ABOUT

Our mission statement

Here at Blue Moon Reptiles we specialise in keeping and breeding some of Western Australia's most unique Python species. Our aim is to produce animals at the highest quality for local residents that hold a current reptile license in WA.

Our stock is carefully chosen either by scarcity, colour expression, genetic traits or line breeding potential.

With this in mind we truly hope to produce animals that only appear once in a blue moon!

Armadale Reptile & Wildlife Centre

The main aim of the Centre is to enable people to see native wildlife in natural surroundings and to help them identify animals particularly venomous or non-venomous snakes, that they may encounter in the bush or possibly their homes or backyards.

The Centre also rescues and cares all types of native sick, injured, abandoned, confiscated or surrendered wildlife, but specializes in reptiles.

Darling Range Wildlife Shelter

Darling Range Wildlife Shelter (DRWS) is a not-for-profit organisation whose mission is to rehabilitate native wildlife and promote the value of biodiversity.

The Shelter relies on the community for help in continuing their work. Financial donations as well as donations of goods and services are always welcome.

Friends of the Western Swamp Tortoise

The Friends of the Western Swamp Tortoise is a group who provides educational resources on the critically endangered Western Swamp Tortoise to schools and local communities.

The group helps with the release of captive-bred tortoises, with re-vegetation of release sites and with the installation of permanent displays.

The DBCA has a licensing portal (Wildlife Licensing System) for new license applications. Holders of existing herpetofauna keeping licenses (under the Wildlife Conservation Act 1950) can apply for a new license online through the portal when their license expires.

The license holder must submit a Pet Keeping Return annually as required by the DBCA, listing all herpetofauna that have been purchased, sold, born or died, on the Wildlife Licensing System. This can be done by simply filling the form and saving it on the online system.

Apply for a new license here

More details on the Biodiversity Conservation Regulations 2018 can be found on the Western Australian Legislation website:

Fees

The following fees apply to new license applications and renewals. Duration of the license is 3 years.
